Late Talker Consultation

Every child develops at their own pace, but there are certain key language milestones to keep an eye on. For example:

At 18 months, your child should

• Be producing a few single words, with communicative intent
• Use a variety of gestures to communicate/get their message across

Your 2 year old child should 

• Have approximately 50 vocabulary words that they use consistently
• Be able to follow simple commands
• Start pairing two words together to form short phrases such as "mommy gone",  "more cookie", or "byebye dada!". 

Your 3 years old child should 

• Talk in sentences of five words or more
•  Understand spatial concepts such as in, under and on
• Understand questions starting with who, what, when, where and why
• Use a variety of action words
• Tell simple stories

This services includes:

(1) A comprehensive language screening of your child's language abilities/development, based on a thorough analysis of videos/audio recordings of your child, as well as information provided by you via discussion and use of parent questionnaires (all conducted by our supervising SLP)

(2) A 60-minute virtual consultation where our supervising SLP will discuss their impressions and recommendations

(3) A comprehensive report with a clinical impression and recommendations

(4) A detailed home-therapy plan personalized to your child

(4) A 15-minute phone follow up (typically 4-6 months after you start implementing our plan)
